1. Study a Master degree in Sustainable Urban Development (SUD) at VGU and you will:

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge and understanding of the key concepts in urban studies, architecture, planning and design.

  • Be able to critically analyze and assess growing problems in urban areas and to develop appropriate solutions from different aspects (architecture, social sciences, ecological and institutional aspects).

  • Be able to work with different teams, build up a world-wide network of professional contacts, coordinate and connect individual project elements to each other.

  • Have a strong connection with domestic and international research organizations and other industries in the field of urban development.

  • Experience an international education environment with German standards.

3. Program Structure:

  • Award: Master of Science in Sustainable Urban Development 

  • Joint degree from Technische Universität Darmstadt (TUD), Germany and Vietnamese-German University (VGU)

  • Full-time | 2 Years | 4 semesters | Includes three semesters of coursework and one semester of master thesis

  • The study program met the standards for accreditation as part of the Swiss Agency for Accreditation and Quality Assurance's system accreditation at the Technical University of Darmstadt (AAQ)

4. Admission requirements:

Are you qualified? Please check the admission requirements as below:

Applicants are required to hold a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Sociology, Environmental Science, Geography, Development Studies, Property and land management, or related fields; with a minimum GPA of 6.5/10 or more.

What do I need to prepare? 

  • Personal Identity card/ Passport

  • Bachelor's degree, Bachelor’s academic transcripts

  • English certificates, IELTS or TOEFL (if any)

5. Scholarships:

  • Merit scholarship: The VGU Talent Scholarship is one of the most prestigious studies at the Vietnam-German University (VGU). This scholarship is awarded to both successful candidates and current students at VGU, based on academic performance or outstanding academic results. Talent scholarships are awarded to 30% of students at the school, not limited to faculty/disciplines 

  • WUS Scholarship:  provide financial support to students with good academic records and difficult economic circumstances. Scholarship sponsored by the Hessen State Department of Economy, Energy, Transport, and Regional Development (HMWEVL)

  • VGU Friendship Association Scholarship, which is supported by the VGU Friendship Association and sponsored by the Hessen State Department of Economy, Energy, Transport and Development (HMWEVL).

  • The German Academy Exchange Agency (DAAD) scholarship, aimed at promoting student and scientist exchange programs in Germany.
