1. Study a Master degree in Mechatronics and Sensor Systems Technology  (MST) at VGU and you will:

  • Acquire a mix of mechanics, electronics, and computing abilities that will help you enhance your career in high-tech sectors and equip you to flourish as both an industry expert and an academic researcher in the subjects of automation, automotive, and environmental technologies, or microelectronics. You'll also be able to do the following:

    • Classify and synthesize currently available methods, algorithms, and software to tackle new scientific and engineering problems in mechatronics and sensor systems technology;

    • Develop new mechanism related mechatronics and sensors and integrate them into robotic systems in the field of production, medical or environmental engineering;

    • Comprehend, interpret, verify and validate simulation results; also utilize simulation results in subsequent calculations in the context of complex problems such as design optimizations related to sensor technology;

  • Join our research team and gain hands-on experience in VGU's superb and modern laboratories. As a result, we offer a lecture on essential concepts in physical and chemical layers of sensor technology, manufacturing, and so on.

2. Mechatronics and Sensor Technology Laboratory at VGU:

  • Medical Industrial Robotic Lab: Studying, designing and evaluating the new generation of robotics with aims of lighter, faster and more stable versions based on Vicon system and smart materials.

  • Sensor Lab: Testing the functioning of sensor signals and developing, setting up laboratory experiments for courses of the study program.

  • With the equipment:

    • Vicon system: including host controller (Lock-Lab), 10 cameras mounted on tripod, a range of different sizes of pearl marker and workstation.

    • Variable stiffness mechanism: Piezoelectric sensor and actuator, Piezo Drive and its test kits.

    • Analyzing and Data Acquisition Devices: NI-DAQmx and DAQ Device (NI-PCIe-6321)

  • Double degree from  Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, Germany and Vietnamese-German University (VGU)

  • Full-time | 2 Years | 4 semesters | Includes three semesters of coursework and one semester of master thesis

  • The German accreditation organization ASIIN has granted the Mechatronics and Sensor Systems Technology program accreditation.

5. Admission requirements:

The program is best suited to people who have completed a bachelor's degree in mechatronic Engineering, electrical Engineering, telecommunications, mechanical engineering, information Technology, physics and related fields.

What do I need to prepare? 

  • Personal Identity card/ Passport

  • Bachelor's degree, Bachelor’s academic transcripts

  • English certificates, IELTS or TOEFL (if any)

6. Scholarships:

  • Merit scholarship: The VGU Talent Scholarship is one of the most prestigious studies at the Vietnam-German University (VGU). This scholarship is awarded to both successful candidates and current students at VGU, based on academic performance or outstanding academic results. Talent scholarships are awarded to 30% of students at the school, not limited to faculty/disciplines 

  • WUS Scholarship:  provide financial support to students with good academic records and difficult economic circumstances. Scholarship sponsored by the Hessen State Department of Economy, Energy, Transport, and Regional Development (HMWEVL)

  • VGU Friendship Association Scholarship, which is supported by the VGU Friendship Association and sponsored by the Hessen State Department of Economy, Energy, Transport and Development (HMWEVL).

  • The German Academy Exchange Agency (DAAD) scholarship, aimed at promoting student and scientist exchange programs in Germany.
